„From PSD2 to Open Finance that actually works” – keynote speech at Banking 4.0 delivered by the CEO of Eurobits Technologies, the first Account Information Service in Europe

„From PSD2 to Open Finance that actually works” is the theme of the keynote speech that Arturo Gonzales Mac Dowell will deliver at international digital banking conference Banking 4.0, on 25 November.

„When the EU drafted PSD2, it stepped into unchartered territory. Unregulated open banking had existed since the very late 90’s in the US, and from the early 2000’s in the EU. However, regulating some aspects of open banking was something that had never been done before. Three years after PSD2 fully entered into force, there are some valuable lessons learnt. The next wave of open finance will leverage from that experience,” said Arturo.

Arturo Gonzales Mac Dowell is the President & CEO of Eurobits Technologies – „the dean of open banking in Europe” as he likes to describe his company. In 2004, as general manager, he was assigned the responsibility of launching and managing Eurobits Technologies*.

His pioneering work in financial technology has led to innovative services like electronic payments, mobile banking and electronic invoicing. Eurobits, now a part of Tink, has been offering services now classified as Account Information Service in Europe since 2004 to some of the Eurozone and LATAM top banks, making Eurobits the pioneer in this market. Eurobits is a signatory to the Future of European Fintech which has campaigned for fair access under PSD2.
