René joined KPMG in Romania in 2016 as a Partner in Taxation Services and as Head of the German Desk. Since 2007 he has worked at Partner level in Romania. René advises clients on the complex and frequently changing fiscal environment and specializes in providing coordinated assistance to clients, with a focus on large and medium-sized privately owned international businesses. Clients appreciate his detailed knowledge of Romanian and international tax, his strong multi-disciplinary understanding of their challenges and service needs, as well as his knowledge of the regulatory background of foreign businesses, especially from the German speaking part of Europe.

As Coordinator of KPMG Romania Startup Grow Pad Program, Rene helps companies to create value by expanding in new territories and embracing new technologies. He drives growth by empowering people and making change happen. He is seen as being the Trusted Advisor within the startup ecosystem

René, a Swiss citizen with German mother tongue, is fluent in English and Romanian. He is a member of the Romanian Chamber of Fiscal Consultants.
