Google Pay is now available directly through Google, not just through banks or other payment processors

GPay app is now finally available in Play Store in 9 more EU markets: Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal and Romania!

„It means you can now easily switch between payment methods, add loyalty cards, boarding passes, event tickets and many more objects directly to your phone!,” says Mikhail Strunkin, EMEA Strategic Partner Development Manager, GPay at Google. „And of course now you can have full experience with GPay on WearOS watches in all those markets!

Until now, the Google Pay solution was available in Romania through the payment applications of partners, banks or electronic payment operators.

It seems that, in the end, Android users could get rid of their dependence on banks’ applications for contactless mobile payments. From now on, users will be able to register all their bank cards, regardless of who the issuer is (except Raiffeisen Bank – among the big players), directly in the GPay application.

In addition, GPay will simplify the way you keep your boarding passes and loyalty cards.
