The one-year immersion program, the Visa Creator Program, will bring together a global cohort of creators including artists, musicians, fashion designers and filmmakers the ability to build their businesses with NFTs.
Visa has launched a programme to help digital-first artists grow their businesses through non-fungible tokens. The payments giant notes that there are some 50 million artists, musicians, designers, filmmakers and other creators publishing content as a full- or part-time source of income, contributing to a $100 billion economy, according to Finextra.
The new one year Visa Creator programme promises to help some of these artists who want to incorporate NFTs into their business model.
Those picked to join the cohort will get technical and product mentorship from Visa’s crypto experts; access to their fellow members as well as industry thought leaders and Visa clients and partners; and a stipend.
„We believe that new technologies emerging in the crypto ecosystem, like non-fungible tokens (NFTs), have the potential to lower the barrier to entry for digital creators across the world. NFTs offer a medium to connect directly with fans and collectors, making it easier for creators to monetize their talent and build a business,” Visa said.
NFT visionaries like former MLB player turned crypto artist Micah Johnson are at the forefront of this new segment of the creator economy — a community of more than 50 million people, who by some estimates, form the fastest-growing type of small business.
„Through the Visa Creator Program, we want to help this new breed of small and micro businesses tap into new mediums for digital commerce.” – Visa concludes.
